With the introduction of the Volkswagen Beetle Denim today at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, the German automaker is paying tribute to the Jeans Bug of the 1970s. Production will be limited to 2,000 units including half in white and the other half in blue.

This convertible has a dark blue top with a jean-like texture. Under the hood, you will find a 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 170 horsepower through a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Other Beetle Denim highlights include 17” Heritage wheels, jeans-inspired seat pockets, and Volkswagen’s new MIB II infotainment system. The latter comes with a 5” touchscreen display, a USB multimedia interface with iPhone and iPod connectivity, and Bluetooth technology.

At the L.A. Auto Show the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Denim is displayed alongside the 2016 Beetle Dune and 2017 Golf GTE Sport.
