Coming to dealerships by summer's end

The fan base for luxury pickup trucks remains large and ardent. To the certain delight of those who are part of this market segment, FCA has just announced its most luxurious truck ever: the 2018 Ram Limited Tungsten Edition, which will be available in Canada during the third quarter of 2017 in the 1500, 2500 and 3500 configurations.

“The Limited Tungsten Edition is the highest trim level Ram has made available,” explained Mike Manley, Head of Ram Brand, FCA – Global. “The new Tungsten Edition is an example of how Ram directly responds to customer input by offering the industry’s most luxurious pickup. Premium truck buyers will recognize the attention to detail, surrounded by quality materials.”

Even more sophisticated and fully equipped than the Ram Limited, the Tungsten Edition features a unique Light Greystone suede headliner, as well as premium “Natura Plus” Frost and Indigo-coloured leather on the seating, dashboard, steering wheel, central armrest, doors and elsewhere. Added as well to the new edition is Indigo carpeting and rubber matting with Frost and Indigo inserts, plus natural wood finishes and exclusive badges.

Notable among the exterior features are first and foremost the Tungsten chrome grille featuring large R-A-M lettering, a sport hood (for the 1500), black trim surrounding the headlamps and Tungsten-coloured accents, as well as exclusive Satin-finish Limited wheels. Consumers can choose between eight body colours: Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Brilliant Black Crystal, Velvet Red Pearl, Granite Crystal Metallic, Maximum Steel Metallic (1500 only), Pearl White and True Blue Pearl.

Buyers of the 2018 Ram Limited Tungsten Edition will be treated to a wide range of special equipment, such as air suspension (1500 only), remote starter, backup camera, memory-enabled power adjustable pedals, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and the RamBox system (only in the Heavy Duty trims with 6-ft 4-in beds). The 8.4-inch Uconnect multimedia interface comes with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and SiriusXM Guardian compatibility.

For those curious about the moniker applied to the new special edition truck, tungsten is a rare and ultra-dense metal, and of all the elements it is the one with the highest-temperature melting point.
