At the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show (taking place between April 20 and 28, 2007), Audi will present a study/prototype that, according to the Ingolstadt-based company, will define a new segment in the ever-growing field of crossover vehicles.
The Cross Coupé is a 4-passenger compact luxury SUV meshed with a typical Audi silhouette. From the side, the styling combination of 20" wheels, snub nose and highly raked rear hatch are original yet familiar lines. The concept also features a fabric folding for maximum sun enjoyment.
Under the Concept's hood is a TDI engine featuring common-rail fuel injection and piezo injectors. The 204 hp and 400 Nm of torque (295 lb/ft) output should prove to be as clean as the engine will be efficient. Fuel consumption will be under 6L per 100 km and the particulate filter and Bluetec system will keep emissions at bay. Audi's Quattro AWD system is par for the course on any Audi product that has off-roading potential.
