Incredible versatility
The BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo is also a utility-type vehicle, which is why you'll find a vast cargo area delivering unparalleled versatility.

When open, the liftgate creates a large opening that's roughly the same size as the X5's. Meanwhile, a smaller panel makes it possible to open only part of the rear hatch.

The cargo area itself is isolated from the cabin by a small, retractable partition that features a 60/40 split just like the rear seatbacks. This makes for total flexibility in the back. So, whether it's for carrying passengers or luggage, or hiding valuables, the 5-Series GT offers lots of possibilities.

The big unknown for the moment, notwithstanding rumors that have been circling around for a while, is what new engine (or hybrid system, if any) will power this BMW.

The pre-production 5-Series Gran Turismo has already become an Internet sensation and it's now just a few steps away from official production. It will hit BMW showrooms in the very near future.
