FRANKFURT, Germany – AC Schnitzer is a German aftermarket developer that chose two of BMW's newest models to showcase their tuning skills. Making their debut at the Frankfurt show are AC Schnitzer's potently transformed BMW 6 Series Cabiolet and 1 Series M Coupé.

Visually, AC Schnitzer's transformation of the 6 Series Cab includes a chromed front grille, front spoiler, twin chrome tailpipes, chrome trim and 21" bi-colour forged alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin receives a matte grey colour scheme, a custom AC Schnitzer aluminum iDrive controller cover and aluminum pedals.

But the big news is the performance upgrade; the V8 engine has been massaged to produce a whopping 540 hp, up from the stock 407. The AC Schnitzer 6 Series will do a 0-100 km/h sprint in 4.4 seconds, compared to the stock BMW's 4.9. Handling and stopping prowess have been improved with an AC Schnitzer suspension kit and six-piston caliper brakes.

Also making its debut, the AC Schnitzer 1Series M Coupé has been similarly transformed. Power output has been increased from 340 to 400, with a torque increase from 369 to 413 lb-ft. Sprint times are now 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, an improvement over the standard 4.9. The racing exhaust system has been specially tuned not only to improve performance, but to deliver great sound.

Aggressive visual cues include twin tailpipes, front lip, rear diffuser and rear spoiler. Inside, a variety of custom accessories include leather shift knob, custom mats, aluminum pedals and a special AC Schnitzer "Black Line" cover for the iDrive Controller.

A fully height-adjustable suspension allows owners to lower the car 0.4 to 0.8 inches. Behind the 20” custom AC Schnitzer rims peek slotted rotors with 8-piston calipers up front, and six-piston pinchers behind.
