While sifting through the always interesting trademark listings, we came upon the fact that Evoque has not yet been registered in North America by Land Rover. We did however notice that LR1 and LR5 have.
Given that the Evoque will be marketed as an entry-level Land Rover, it would make sense then to assume that it will take the name LR1, a sub-LR2 if you will.
If you ask us, this would be logical as proper names for cars are going the way of the Dodo and that brand identity is tightly tied into every product. Think Mazda and the Mazda2, Mazda3, etc...
We don't care what they call it so long as they don't change anything in the vehicle's styling.
