Most areas of the automotive world are drowning in abbreviations, but it's arguably the safety scene that's got it the worst. Unfortunately, it's not about to get any better- as Nissan's just announced that it will soon demonstrate an advanced collision-free vehicle concept.

The Japanese manufacturer's concept features a slew of warning systems and sensors including a lane departure warning system that Nissan calls LDP. LDP or Lane Departure Prevention monitors the markings on the roads surface and can even use dynamic braking to 'motivate' the vehicle back to its original lane if the line is accidentally crossed.

Back-up Collision Prevention (BCP) and Side Collision Prevention (SCP) will also be showcased. BCP and SCP use sensors to add security in backup-and lane-change maneuvers, respectively. Distance Control Assist (DCA), additionally, can warn drivers if they're at a risk of hitting another object.

Vehicle to Vehicle and Vehicle to Infrastructure communication systems will also be on display. These futuristic technologies can warn motorists of potentially unseen traffic near intersections, or even alert the driver if they're about to run a red light.

Nissan says the All-Around Collision Free concept vehicle extends their "Safety Shield" efforts to protect the vehicle and its occupants from risks coming from multiple directions. The All-Around Collision Free prototype vehicle will be displayed at the 15th World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) next week.
