Although BMW has not confirmed its involvment in DTM in 2012, the german brand has announced that the work on a DTM car has already begun.

BMW motorsport boss Mario Theissen, told to Autosport magazine : « In order to be ready for 2012 we have started designing a car based on the new regulations already. Just on paper, but it shows you that we are confident. We haven't taken the final decision yet, but I'm confident that it will come in the next weeks or months. I hope that it will come soon ».
