Charlie Whiting has not penalised neither Fernando Alonso nor Mark Webber for the Red Bull 'taxi' ride of the Ferrari driver in the deceleration lap of the German Grand Prix.

Some suspected the stewards may penalise Webber for offering and Alonso for accepting a ride on the Red Bull car back to parc fermé after the Ferrari driver abandoned his low-on-fuel car on the track.

As it turns out, none will be penalised. Alonso will even escape sanction for abandoning the Ferrari altogether.

"They are real good friends and it would have been a very long walk back", smiled Christian Horner.
Lewis Hamilton will not be penalised either for jumping off the fence of parc fermé to greet his engineers before the podium ceremony.

But not everyone was as lucky as the winners and Sebastian Buemi did not escape the stewarts' sanction. His collision with Nick Heidfeld will cost him five places on the starting grid of next week's Hungarian Grand Prix.
