According to Autosport.com, Sebastian Vettel would be the slowest driver through the speed trap before corner 1 at Monza. But no matter how slow he is in a straight-line, he still managed pole position during qualifying of the Italian Grand Prix.

Where Vettel only reaches 327.7 km/h, Fernando Alonso reaches 342.2 km/h, Mark Webber 336.1 km/h and Jenson Button 333.1 km/h.

This means Vettel could be an easy target in the DRS (Drag Reduction System) zones if he can't keep a 1.0 second gap with the others behind him.

Furthermore, Vettel could have a hard time overtaking. Even the DRS might prove insufficient to compensate such a big speed deficit.

This would be the result of a tactical decision by Vettel to use shorter gear ratios on his car. The gamble is to compromise straight-line speeds in order to boost corner speeds.
