Ferrari is teasing the all-new 488 Spider ahead of its world premiere at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show in September. Boasting a 661-horsepower V8, this car will become the most powerful mid-engined roadster in the entire history of the Italian automaker – and the first of its kind with a removable hard top that folds in two sections in just 14 seconds.

Of course, the engine is the same 3.9L turbocharged unit that powers the Ferrari 488 GTB. The Spider can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in a mere three seconds and from 0-200 km/h in just 8.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 325 km/h.

The chassis uses 11 different combinations of aluminum and other metals including magnesium for optimum rigidity. The glass wind deflector in the back offers 3-position adjustability for enhanced comfort.
Pricing for the Ferrari 488 Spider will be announced at a later date along with the exact number of units available. Check back with us around mid-September for the official unveiling.
