GT1: Hexis Aston Martin win in Abu Dhabi

Hexis Racing Aston Martin DB9 driven by Clivio Piccione and Stef Dusseldorp, won the opening round of the GT1 world championship in Abu Dhabi.

Mucke and Turner’s Aston started from pole position, but the car was forced to retire in qualifying race with handling problems.

Maxime Martin and Frederic Makowiecki’s Marc VDS Ford GT won the qualifying race.

In return, the championship race was won by Hexis Racing Aston Martin DB9. Piccione and Dusseldorp moved up from 5th to first after a very good pit stop midway in the race.

Piccione and Dusseldorp clinched victory ahead of Peter Dumbreck and Richard Westbrook (JR Motorsport Nissan GT-R). Markus Winkelhock and Marc Basseng (All Inkl Lamborghini Murcielago) completed the podium.
