The top-of-the-line EX V6 receives a significant boost in engine power for 2003. While displacement remains at 3.0-litres, output of the all aluminum VTEC V6 has been increased 20 percent to 240-horsepower and is precisely controlled through a "drive-by-wire" Electronic Throttle Control system. The V6 is mated to an all-new 5-speed automatic transmission.
While a more powerful engine and a transmission that shifts smoother enhances the driving appeal of all 2003 Accord Coupes, fuel economy has been increased while exhaust emissions are reduced when compare to the model it replaces.
Slated for release in Spring 2003 is a performance-oriented V6 Coupe equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, larger wheels and tires, a premium stereo system with amplifier and a host of interior styling treatments. Pricing for the V6 Coupe with a manual transmission will be released closer to the on-sale date.
Honda also announced 2003 prices for the European-inspired Civic SiR, the S2000 premium roadster and the popular CR-V sport utility.
