As expected, the Milwaukee Mile will be back on the IndyCar 2012 calendar; becoming the 16th race thanks to Michael Andretti who has decided to become its promoter.

The series came back last year to the State Fair Park after a one-year hiatus but unfortunately the event failed to raise enthusiasm and the turnout was dismal, due in large part to the lack of promotional support and the cost of tickets.

A press conference is planned later this month to confirm the news but already an announcement was made on the Milwaukee Mile website last Friday.

Adding Milwaukee gives INDYCAR five consecutive races beginning with the Indianapolis 500 on May 27, Detroit on June 3, Texas on June 9, Milwaukee on the 16th and Newton, Iowa on June 24.
