As Auto123.com predicted a few months ago, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing has confirmed that Takuma Sato will be joining the squad for the upcoming 2012 IZOD IndyCar season.
Takuma Sato, a longtime protégé of Honda and former Formula 1 driver, has left KV Racing which is now a Lotus-powered team to drive for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing which, in turn, will be powered by Honda.
The 2012 season marks the return to full-time action for Bobby Rahal's team, which has not entered a car for a full IndyCar season since running Ryan Hunter-Reay in 2008.
The team confirmed its plan to run a second car alongside Sato's, and hopes to have that car running during preseason tests.
