Jean-Éric Vergne, FR3.5’s vice-champion, took top honours at ERDF Masters Kart event held at Paris-Bercy.

On top of taking the win in Sunday’s finale, Vergne also finished first in Saturday’s qualifying session and Sunday’s semi-final.

His biggest rival to the checkered flag was Romain Grosjean, who also won his semi-final. The recently-announced Lotus driver had a heated battle with Vergne in the big finale, up until the last lap where Grosjean had a tangle with another kart.

Therefore, the Frenchman could only finish fifth, behind Jérôme d’Ambrosio, Julien Jousse and Gary Paffett.

Robert Wickens, who finished ahead of Vergne in the FR3.5 title race, didn’t make it through to the finale. He was eliminated in the pre-final.

In the junior race, Charles Leclerc came out on top as the weekend’s winner. Canadian Lance Stroll was in contention for the win, but was involved in a crash with second-place finisher Dorian Boccolacci.
