The MINI of tomorrow will provide its many different owners with unique, customizable ownership experiences – a philosophy reflected in the MINI VISION NEXT 100 concept.
In a future in which a single vehicle may be shared by several people, this visionary concept integrates technologies that allow the car to have an appearance and an ambience that reflects those of its user. Some of the exterior surfaces can be transformed to respond to the user’s preferences, and it can display a personalized message when that user approaches. The heart and soul of the MINI VISION NEXT 100 is the “Cooperizer” function, a translucent-coloured instrument in the centre of the car that communicates with the driver via dynamic colour changes.
Over time, the MINI VISION NEXT 100 will adapt to the user’s habits and improve their driving experience, for example by suggesting new places to discover and interesting routes to explore. Between trips, the visionary car will be able to drive autonomously to a charging station, where it can be cleaned and recharged before heading out to meet up with another user. The Cooperizer’s “Inspire Me” function also allows users to try out the personalized driving mode of other users, like a friend, or even an admired celebrity – thus pushing contemporary concepts of connectivity and shared experience to a whole other level.
