Don Thomson Jr. (Chevrolet) earned his second victory at Mosport Speedway as he took the Dickies 200 chequered flag in NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.
Thomson took the lead for the fifth and final time on Lap 178 and held off team-mate JR Fitzpatrick (Chevrolet) and Kerry Micks (Ford) for his sixth career victory overall.
Fitzpatrick finished in second and therefore was able to extend his points lead on DJ Kennington (Dodge), who earned the pole earlier in the day, to 16. Kennington finished sixth.
Kerry Micks, Ron Beauchamp Jr. (Dodge) and Pete Shepherd III (Dodge) rounded up the top-5.
In the championship point standings, Fitzpatrick and Kennington are breaking away from the pack a bit as Micks is 128 points back and Steckly is 147 points off the pace.
NCTS will be back on the track on Sunday, Aug. 29, for the NAPA AUTOPRO 100 at Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the last of five road-course events on the 2010 schedule.
