Former Formula 1 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve will compete in the NAPA Auto Parts 200 in Montreal late August.
The organisers of the race confirmed the news this morning.
"Braun Racing is pleased to announce that former Formula One World Champion Jacques Villeneuve drive the No. 32 Dollar General Toyota in the NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada. This event marks the second career NASCAR Nationwide Series start for Villeneuve at the world renowned road course named after his father, Gilles Villeneuve, also a legendary F1 racer."
It will not be the car that Villeneuve drove in that same event in 2008. Last year, he drove a superspeedway car that had been set-up for the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve road course. This year, it appears that Villeneuve will drive a car that has been designed, built and set-up for the road courses – a major difference.
Later in the afternoon, Turbo Magazine said that Villeneuve would also compete in the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium aboard a Mosler MT900R of team Gravity Racing International.
