NASCAR: Patrick Carpentier to contest NAPA 200 race in Montreal

Pastrana-Waltrip Racing and NAPA announced today that Canadian driver Patrick Carpentier will race the No. 99 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota in the NAPA AUTO PARTS 200 presented by Dodge, NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal on Aug. 20.

The Joliette, Quebec native won the pole for this race in 2007 and posted second-place finishes in 2007 and 2008.

The 2009 and 2010 Montreal races saw Carpentier as one of the fastest on the track before mechanical issues ended his races early.

Michael Waltrip Racing, Gary and Blake Bechtel along with Travis Pastrana co-own Pastrana-Waltrip Racing based in Cornelius, North Carolina.

Pastrana, a legend of the famous X Games will race the Camry seven times in 2011 beginning on July 30 in Indianapolis.
