The CS400 is the sportiest Subaru of all. This revamped, black-coloured STI comes from a partnership between the Japanese automaker and Cosworth, the English manufacturer known for its racing engines and successful projects with Ford Motor Company.
Cosworth is now the only engine supplier for IndyCar. Yet, they chose to go mainstream with this premium Subaru, although production will be limited to 75 units.
The CS400 looks absolutely stunning in its new matte black attire. Of course, it boasts Recaro sports seats for maximum driver support and a mean, mean powerplant for maximum performance and excitement.
Subaru’s 2.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged boxer has been slightly revised to bump horsepower figures from 300 to 400. Torque is also up from 300 to nearly 400 pounds-feet.
The result is a car that can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds, or about 1.5 second faster than the original STI.
Sadly for North American enthusiasts, the highly-exclusive Subaru CS400 will be sold in the U.K. only.
