Mitsubishi Gives Us a Glimpse of Detroit Show Cars

Mitsubishi's new midsize Endeavor crossover/SUV promises to be as exciting as its Eclipse Coupe, but with more room and versatility of course. It represents the first results of the Japanese brand's 1.4 billion 'Project America' initiative.

Now that Mitsubishi is part of the Canadian automotive landscape, it's especially important to keep an eye on all that's going on with the progressive Japanese brand. Detroit's North American International Auto Show is almost upon us, and just for fun, Mitsubishi has decided to tease us with a few artist's renderings of cars that will be featured at the show.

Expect the unexpected with Mitsubishi's next concept car. The Tarmac Spyder Concept looks radical from these artist's renderings and shouldn't disappoint fans of the sporty brand when it appears in Detroit next month.

Will the new Endeavor production SUV and Tarmac Spyder Concept car look anything like these drawings? While the new Endeavor SUV will no doubt follow Mitsubishi's sophisticated 'high-style' designs, epitomized in their sporty Eclipse coupe and Eclipse Spyder models, don't expect the overzealous tires and overly rakish exterior lines as depicted here, at least with the production bound Endeavor. The NAIAS will be the official introduction of this new V6-powered crossover/SUV.
