The idea of an environmentally-friendly high-performance car isn't entirely a new one- and neither is that of a vehicle that runs off of hydrogen. The Ronn Motor Company of Texas is well on their way to combining these two elements into a vehicle called the Scorpion, which utilizes a unique on-demand hydrogen production system to do away with the need for a storage tank or fueling station.

The company says that their unique hydrogen delivery system works by 'fracturing' water molecules which are drawn from a small, on-board tank. Hydrogen is created in real-time on an on-demand basis, and then blended with gasoline in the intake manifold at a rate of about 30 to 40 percent hydrogen. The entire process is controlled by a sophisticated computer system.

"What we are revealing today is an innovation in the automotive industry and demonstrates American ingenuity at a time of real need," says Ronn Motor Company's Chief Executive Officer Ronn Maxwell. "We're designing and building cars with performance components and unique styling with the objective of making the new environmentally friendly vehicle stand out with never before seen style and approximately 40 mpg plus efficiency."

Maxwell hopes to have the striking Scorpion model available to customers this fall.
