Last but not least when shooting car videos is the sound. As soon as you take your camera outside, the audio quality drops considerably, sometimes to unacceptable levels. Fostex came up with a solution called the AR-4i, a small device that attaches to your iPhone and greatly enhances the sound you capture.
Featuring two microphones and a sturdy hand grip, the AR-4i comes with a free, easy-to-use Setup App from the App Store. The slick, tight-fitting device allows you to shoot confidently without any background noise. If you want to use a tripod or do an interview, it also supports lav mics.
The learning curve is pretty short, too. Just do a few tests and you're set. Definitely a must.
Of course, these are my personal suggestions. I haven't tried all the different gadgets out there, but I always carry these five whenever I want to shoot a video using my iPhone.
