Team Target Ganassi driver Dario Franchitti earned a total of $2,752,055 for his victory at the Indy 500 on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway last Sunday.
That amount of money translates into: $5,504,11 per mile completed on the race track $13,760.27 per lap completed $887,759.67 per hour of work $14,875.97 per minute of work! No wonder why Dario was smiling so much on the podium, especially when one consider there was just 1.6 gallons of methanol left in the tank of his car when he crossed the line – not enough to complete another lap of the 2.5-mile superspeedway!
