According to report in the press, Alex Tagliani will become an IndyCar Series owner/driver in 2010 as the Canadian is believed to have secure financial backing from a major Canadian investor.
According to these reports, Tagliani would be able to buy out all of ex-IndyCar driver and fellow Canadian Marty Roth's race cars and equipment. The former Champ Car/IndyCar driver will also call upon the help from former team members with whom he worked in the past. Those people would include former Walker Racing’s team manager and engineer Rob Edwards, who would become team manager for Tagliani's team. Jim Freudenberg, former general manager for Kelley Racing, would also be in the new venture to handle the commercial side of the team. Brandon Fry, Conquest Racing's race engineer, has been also linked with a move to Tag’s team. The team will be confirmed on Friday August 28 in Chicago, during the IndyCar Series race weekend, with the sponsorship package being announced in Montreal at a later date – possibly at the Auto Show next February.
