Petter Solberg has confirmed his interest in representing the rally world in Las Vegas for the $5M IndyCar race at the end of the 2011 season.
"I always wanted to try something like this," said the Norwegian to Autosport. "Competing at an event like this would be good fun. "I have tested a Le Mans car and a Formula 1 car, so I don't think the driving challenge would be a problem for me," he added. Series chief Randy Bernard said he would be interested in having a rally driver compete in the event. Solberg would be of the volunteers. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for F1 Champion Jacques Villeneuve has confirmed that discussions are ongoing with the series for a one-time return for the Indianapolis 500 and CART Champion at Vegas.
