2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade - Feeling Liberated After a Full Week of "Sunshine"

After a hearty day of snowboarding, I was riding down the Blackcomb Gondola in Whistler, B.C. My destination was "Base II", the potholed parking lot of plenty where sat a fine piece of American machinery, the 2003 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4x4. As I floated across the plethora of parked cars, out of the blue I blurted out, "Hello Sunshine!" Luckily I was alone in the gondola because if others were around, they probably would have considered me an optimist, or weird as it was overcast that day. I just couldn't help myself. So that is how my temporary 4x4 received its name.

Why "Sunshine"? It's simple; the Liberty Renegade is full of "beaming" features, not to mention its standard "industrial strength/150,000 candlepower" four halogen-lamp activity light bar, dome-shaped headlamps, and fog lamps. These beacons will brighten any road trip. But heed this warning, the "deer lamps", as I like to call them, are for off-road use only. On public roads their blinding brilliance will cause unfavorable flashing lights from opposing vehicles, maybe even red and blue ones.

Speaking of beaming features the Renegade comes in bright silver metallic paint, but in case you don't want to simply follow the color crowd (over 30% of new cars sold are coated in silver) you can pick and choose from Cactus Green Pearl Coat, Black, or Light Khaki Metallic.
