One of our collaborators tested the Legacy Wagon 2.5i for a couple of weeks. Her name is Line and she's a 45-years-old mother of two teenagers.

The Legacy is pleasant to drive both in the city and on the highway.

She primarily used the car to run her errands, but she also made a two-way trip from Montreal to Quebec City and spent a few days in Ottawa.

Line found the Legacy attractive. However, being a short woman, she would have liked the driver's seat to offer more height adjustment so as to enjoy a better view of the road (like in the Impreza). Also, the door-integrated armrest is too high to be useful during long trips.

According to Line, the transmission is easy to manipulate, as are the various controls, which proved to be within her reach and very user-friendly.

The audio system delivers a good sound, but inserting CDs in the slot require extra attention.

The Legacy Wagon is especially appreciated for its cargo space and numerous storage compartments. Among other things, Line raved about the lightweight rear hatch, the convenient cargo cover and the low cargo floor level.

In city traffic, the Legacy maneuvers well and parks easily. The car's size is neither inconvenient nor cumbersome. On the highway, the only fault Line could find was the noise coming from roof rack crossbars. If you don't plan on using them, better take them off.

A few additional adjustments would have resulted in an ideal driving position.
