From a distance, the Ibis White Avant with S-Line and Titanium Packages looks incredible. The contrast between the white and the black is stunning and make the already very handsome A4 that much hotter. Up close, the details surface and the appreciation for Audi's styling team's vision is that much more appreciable; charcoal multi-spoke 18" wheels, black roof rack and blacked-out grille are bold statements of chrome-clad defiance.
The A4's cabin, in Titanium trim, is austere and clean. The controls appear and feel sophisticated. The seats are impressively supportive and comfortable. The fit and finish and incredible materials deliver a rich textured allure. Alas, I can find only two weaknesses with the car's interior and they are: a wide center console that robs the driver of some legroom and the presence of a few minor trim rattles.
The tester's 3.2L V6 performs like a champ. Its power-band is well suited to the 6-speed manual transmission and to the type of driving most A4 Avant owners are likely to do. Personally, I would select the 2.0T if only for the near infinite tuning possibilities of a turbocharged engine. The brakes are powerful and easy to modulate while steering is perfectly weighted with razor-sharp precision. Are you longing for stability and handling without sacrificing comfort? Look no further than an A4.
I am a sucker for station wagons and love the fact that the Germans are as well. Audi, BMW and Mercedes estates are amongst the most pleasant to drive (without forgetting the Subaru Legacy and Outback) and suffer no setbacks from the added hatch. If anything, I think that they are way better looking with one.
