Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport
Here’s another brand-new model making the 2020 Wards 10 Best UX honour list. Seeing as how it’s entering a very popular vehicle segment, particularly south of our border, VW’s new 5-person midsize SUV has to make a strong case of itself if it’s going to make room for itself on the market.
According to Wards, it’s mission accomplished, at least in terms of the user experience:

The Volkwagen Atlas Cross Sport is commended for the five USB ports spattered about the interior, wireless phone charging, electrical outlets on and at the back of the console, clear voice command system and easy phone pairing, among other qualities.
Zooming in on the multimedia system and its 8-inch screen, Wards liked the capacitive-touch technology on the screen (sparing you having to apply finger pressure), presence of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the ability to display your smartphone apps on the screen. Also cited were the impressive digital cockpit, the virtual gauges of which were truly impressive visually, and Fender audio system with 12 speakers to handle the 480 watts of sound.
The icing on the cake in the new Atlas Cross Sport was the Traffic Jam Alert system, which delivers adaptive cruise control capability to the point of automatically handling full stops, restarts and speeds of up to 60 km/h. This is Level 2 autonomous driving, not to be sneezed at for those who spend a lot of time in traffic.
