Midsize Car: 2021 Honda Accord

The Civic may have lost in its category this year. but the midsize Accord saves face for Honda, taking it in another category that has lost some of its sales lustre in recent years. This last fact is ironic given that the current crop of models competing in the segment might be the highest-quality bunch ever produced.
KBB pointed at the 2021 Accord’s spirited handling combined with a smooth, family-friendly ride, spacious interior and underlying solidity to explain its choice. Visually the model is only mildly different than last year – it got a new grille and some interior upgrades – but it’s those aforementioned returning qualities that helped the sedan nip the others in its class to the prize.
What KBB liked:
- Roomy cabin
- Solid handling yet smooth-riding
- Big trunk
- Great resale value and low maintenance costs
- Styling still remarkably fresh 3 years into the current generation
- Good sightlines for a sedan
