Optional with the Luxury and Premium Packages are the Lexus Vehicle Skid Control (VSC) system and integrated electronic traction control (TRAC). VSC uses throttle intervention plus the ABS actuators and sensors to help maintain directional stability under adverse road conditions.

In addition to dynamic safety features, the ES 300's redesigned unibody also inspires confidence with new crush structures and passenger compartment reinforcements. The A pillars extend further into the roof and new connection techniques improve the strength of the roof and side sills. A new dual-thickness B pillar and more efficient cross car floorpan reinforcements help provide additional strength to resist side impact forces.
As with the LS 430, the supplemental restraint system includes new side curtain airbags that supplement the dual front airbags and front seat-mounted side airbags. The side curtain airbags extend from the A pillar to the C pillar to help provide protection for both front and rear occupants in a side impact. New multi-stage front airbags deploy according to impact force. The driver's front airbag is also provided with a seat position detector that engages an extra low deployment stage when a smaller-sized person is driving.
All seating positions feature three-point seatbelt anchors and the front seats have adjustable shoulder anchors, and pretensioners with force limiters.
