An essential element of luxury is interior space. A more spacious interior created by the 50.8 mm longer wheelbase and 61 mm taller roofline provides greater interior space for both front and rear seat occupants. New 8-way power adjustable front bucket seats with enhanced lumbar support are an all-new design that is more comfortable and more supportive, with enhanced structural integrity for added safety. The front passenger seat is 6-way power adjustable.

A safety technology shared with the LS 430 is the whiplash-injury-lessening front seats. The upper seatback frame of the new ES 300 is designed to help absorb the upper back of the occupant into the seatback, while the headrest is positioned to help reduce the rearward movement of the occupant's head in a rear impact collision.

Value added to both the Luxury and Premiums packages includes a power rear sunshade which retracts automatically when the transmission is shifted into reverse plus two-level heated seats, a one-touch power moonroof, High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

The 2002 ES 300 will appear in Lexus showrooms in October, 2001.

Every Lexus is covered by an industry-leading warranty, covering the entire vehicle for 48 months/80,000 kilometres. Power train and major components are covered for 72 months/110,000 kilometres, and corrosion perforation is warranted for 72 months with unlimited distance.

The 48-month Lexus roadside assistance program provides travel planning as well as the extra security and confidence of a dedicated toll-free telephone number and emergency service or towing 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
