Rather than reinvent the wheel SKY designers incorporated a version of the center placed instrument cluster found in the ION. It looks cool and is especially cost effective when factoring in right hand drive markets. The silver and blue interior color scheme is tastefully applied too, splashing some life into what is all too often a black or tan based motif.
Unique storage bins atop the instrument panel, plus translucent, flexible compartments in the front and rear doors, are tagged with orange tabs to make them easy to identify. At the base of the center stack is a 5-speed manual gearshift lever, which can be tucked into the console when parked for an unobstructed pass-through. Good idea, why didn't anyone else ever think of that?

But of course, Saturn does a lot of things differently than status quo automakers. With this in mind Jill Lajdziak, Vice President of Saturn Sales, Service and Marketing said, "Here's a roadster done the Saturn way." She continued, "We've been offering a different kind of car since our creation and now we are showing off a car the world has never seen - a stirring, open-air roadster that is an equal mix of fun and function. People can take their friends along and easily talk as they go."
While I could debate for hours that the world has seen fun and function in an open-top car previously, the SKY is at least a particularly intriguing prospect for Saturn, a carmaker that could use a boost in morale both for external and internal purposes.
