That said the GT offers more than just giddy straight line performance. The little crossover is quite capable when the road turns curvy due as much in part to the aforementioned standard 17-inch wheels wrapped around P205/50R17 all-season tires as to its sport-tuned suspension. Its wide 1,481 mm (58.3 in) front and 1,481 mm (58.3 in) rear track belies its tall and narrow retro physic to provide decent manners, assisted by standard traction control in slippery conditions. Still, when pushed hard over uneven pavement the rear end starts to act up a little, probably due to its solid twist beam axle, coil spring and Watt's linkage architecture. The front suspension consists of independent struts with coil springs and a stabilizer bar, tracking well even over bumpy surfaces. Four-wheel disc brakes with ABS are standard too, bringing things to a quick stop even when fully laden.

Speaking of being loaded, Chrysler hasn't forgotten anything in the features department. Additional standard equipment includes dual front airbags, air-conditioning, fog lamps, deep tinted glass, power windows, power locks with remote access and dual power mirrors. Also the GT comes with a standard 6-speaker AM/FM/CD audio system, cruise control, tilt steering, 65/35 split-folding rear bench seat, security alarm, Sentry Key immobilizer and a removable rear parcel shelf capable of carrying a lot of weight. Incidentally it also doubles as a fold out table in the event of a tailgate party. Toward the front of the cabin a multi-functional storage bin is part of the lower console while digitally displayed outside temperature and compass readings light up in the overhead console.
