Its not hard to grasp the 427 cubic inch (7.0-L) engine's power in pictures though. The engine shows what Ford is capable of if it chose to build a super sedan of its own. (Photo: Trevor Hofmann, Canadian Auto Press)

The engine, derived from the brand's modular V8, gets a gorgeous exposed aluminum manifold and red on silver 'Powered by Ford' valve covers. Looping red leads are color coordinated and remind of years gone by when the cars we bought could be tuned with a Haynes manual in one hand and a timing light in the other. But of course, those days are gone and this dual overhead cam, multi-valve V10 is beyond the skills of most backyard mechanics. It's a long, cool silver mechanical masterpiece.

The car is long and low too, with a purposeful stance, menacingly black and trimmed with bright billet aluminum accents. Each massive 19-inch 5-spoke wheel stretches out to meet each outside corner, giving it an athletic appearance. It's an all-American jock gone bad, the type of car you don't let your daughter go to prom in.

On the subject J Mays commented, "It's the kind of car that, when you drive it, makes you look like you're doing something wrong."

If not intimidated by the car itself its 'DETROIT' billet aluminum machined rear vanity plate gets the message across in fine form. After all it's one of the toughest cities in the U.S.
