When common sense finally takes control the M6 coupe's Brembo brakes react to input without hesitation, clamping down hard on their sizable rotors - 325 mm (12.8 in) diameter up front and 323 mm (12.7 in) in the rear.

Having heard that there are a few curves in South Mountain Park I turn left off of Baseline Road onto Central toward the park entrance. A series of massive speed bumps greet visitors during the initial kilometer but disappear once past the park office and information center. A narrow two lane road opens up to a few twists and turns, allowing me to get a feel for the coupe's immediate turn-in - hmmm, if this keeps up it could be fun. What to my surprise, in Arizona of all places, one of the sweetest stretches of undulating serpentine roadway rises up with the steep grade of the mountain.

The G35 coupe is electric, carving each apex with the athleticism of an Olympic slalom skier, powerful between corners and braking with smooth and steady force. Once again the Vehicle Dynamic Control traction and stability system is there when you need it but hardly perceptible, allowing just enough rear end slip to spice up the experience while keeping all the rubber between the narrow lane. Passing, while I would believe difficult if not impossible to execute safely in an average car, was made effortless and without concern in the coupe. Curve after curve the wonderfully balanced, 53% front and 47% rear weight distributed coupe delivered up exhilarating performance.
