Most of the kudos need to go to Nissan's top-notch engineers, the people behind the FM (front-midship) architecture that makes this car, and the G35 sedan, 350Z coupe and most recent FX35 and FX45 line of SUVs so well grounded at maximum velocity. Like its siblings, the G35 coupe's unibody is structurally tight, offering up an optimal base to attach its aluminum intensive suspension pieces - fully independent multi-link designs front and rear. A viscous limited slip differential comes as part of the M6 package, while the base automatically shifted coupe receives a conventional rear end. Other differences include standard 17-inch rims on the base car, non-Brembo 11.65-inch front and 11.5-inch rear disc brakes and standard interior trim instead of the cool titanium surfaces of the M6 coupe. The 18-inch wheel and tire package is optional on automatic equipped cars, as is the limited slip differential and titanium tint trim. A DVD navigation system with a 6.5-inch monitor is a $3,400 option on both models.
Standard items across the line include 4-channel, 4-sensor ABS, leather seats - the driver's which is 6-way power adjustable while the front passenger's is 2-way with manual recline - front heated cushions, a leather wrapped steering wheel with cruise control and audio buttons, dual-zone automatic climate control, power windows with auto up/down feature, power locks with remote access, an 8-speaker 225-watt Bose audio system with an in-dash 6CD changer and cassette, xenon HID headlamps, heated outside mirrors, an automatic anti-glare rearview mirror, rear center console, a folding rear seatback and a dual sliding power-actuated glass sunroof.
