It sits 136 mm lower to the ground than the hardtop giving it a more aggressive stance. The result is a lower center of gravity, helped along by the Murciélago's dry sump engine lubrication system, which should maintain the Roadster's handling despite added weight. Why the extra pounds? Lamborghini had to redesign specific structural chassis pieces to ensure adequate torsional stiffness. The coupe's active suspension, active traction and yaw control with defeat feature and 245/35ZR18 front and 335/30ZR18 rear tires make the transition to the open air Lamborghini too. Large diameter vented disc brakes assisted by a 4-channel anti-lock system with Dynamic Rear Proportioning (DRP) should make for timely deceleration.

The Roadster's doors still scissor upward to let driver and passenger in, just like the production Murciélago. Once inside the cockpit, near identical to the Murciélago coupe, nothing is radically new. Well bolstered performance seats hug the torso while a simple, straight forward instrument cluster goes about its job in a decidedly businesslike fashion. Lamborghini's traditional gated shifter is finished in bright metal and the three-spoke steering wheel is leather clad. Defining its 'pilot oriented' character Lamborghini differentiates the driver's area from the passenger's with a different color and material.
