Of course, there's more to the HPX than just proven performance parts and a sleek, 5-door styling exercise. Slide inside, onto the slim leather clad pedestal seats, and take hold of its flight inspired drive-by-wire steering wheel, the item that immediately sets the car apart as a true concept. Then take in the glass-like opaque stalks that surround the column, the vertically stacked gauge cluster, massive information screen and BMW i-Drive-style console-mounted control pod. It's anything but conformist.
"We strived to convey a dynamic profile that expresses speed and agility," added Hunter. "At the same time, we also wanted the HPX to give clues to its technical sophistication."
The overall look is minimalist, with the electronic interface replacing the majority of buttons and switches that clutter up traditional dashboards and consoles areas, but hopefully its execution is less challenging than the aforementioned comparison.
