The $17,795 ION 2 adds body-color door handles, 15-inch steel wheels and tires, air-conditioning, power door locks, mid-level fabric trim, a height adjustable driver's seat and a CD player, also optional on the ION 1. The $20,150 top-level ION 3 pulls out all the stops, adding fog lamps, body-color side view mirrors, a 16-inch alloy wheel and tire package, an upgraded console with an adjustable armrest, enclosed storage and dual front and rear cupholders, silver faced gauges and top-level fabric trim. The ION 3 also includes cruise control, power windows, power adjustable mirrors, remote keyless entry with a security system and panic alert, and an AM/FM/CD/cassette audio system with auto tone control, auto reverse music search, seek and scan, plus ETR and 4 premium coaxial speakers, all optional on the ION 2.
With the ION 2 and 3 you can get an amplified 6-speaker 6-disc CD player upgrade to the premium audio system, a rear decklid spoiler, a power sunroof, the OnStar in-vehicle communications and assistance service with one year Safe and Sound package, and a travel package that includes map lights, an outside temperature gauge, compass and auto-dimming rearview mirror.
A leather appointed interior that includes seating surfaces, steering wheel and automatic shift knob is available on the ION 3 while distinct 15-inch alloy wheels are also available only on the ION 2. Optional equipment available on all models includes the automatic transmission, plus anti-lock brakes (ABS) and traction control.
The ION's 1,016 mm (40.0 in) front and 940 mm (37.0 in) rear headroom and 1,072 mm (42.2 in) front and 846 mm (33.3 in) rear legroom should be capable of accommodating all but excessively tall occupants while its 1,364 mm (53.7 in) front and 1,341 mm (52.8 in) rear shoulder and 1,257 mm (49.5 in) front and 1,260 mm (49.6 in) rear hip room will help to squeeze in the width challenged. The trunk is also commodious for this class at 416 L (14.7 cu ft).
