According to Calty designer William Chergosky, "The cabin is designed specifically for basic functionality and flexible utility." The front and back seats fold flat to maximize cargo space, while the level floor is perfect for 'adventurous' campers to stretch out in if the tent gets too cold.

But sleeping isn't what the FJ Cruiser was designed for, with a rugged interior that compliments the exterior sheetmetal. According to Chergosky, "The structural beam instrument panel has a sophisticated, handcrafted appearance. The faceplate with round inset instrumentation communicates precision and ruggedness. The steering wheel and center-mounted shifter, and attached look door panels feature tool-like simplicity with an industrial feel. A portable remote GPS is removable for wilderness hiking."

This last feature is something truly unique. Although the scary prospect of misplacing this portable navigation system, a feature that currently averages about $3,000 extra to the cost of a new vehicle, is foremost in my mind, its convenience for orienteering would be terrific.
Though Boy Scouts are most definitely not the vehicle's target market the FJ Concept's adventurous spirit would no doubt find interested young adult buyers if priced similarly to Jeep's inexpensive TJ 4x4.
