Cadillac adds the satin chrome touch to the shift knob, door pulls and door handles too, bringing the interior up to super sedan standards. With performance in mind the center armrest has been reduced in height, creating the necessary room for enthusiastic gearshift operation. Driver and front passenger seats are finished in leather, of course, with suede inserts to keep back and derriere in place during spirited cornering. Customers will be able to choose from Ebony and Light Neutral interior shades, with light gray stitching to coordinate with the interior's high-tech aluminum accents.

But while the CTS-V boasts some fairly advanced electronic driver's aids, it's not particularly sophisticated. Like rival Ford did in the 1960s with Carroll Shelby at the helm, Cadillac is poised to knock the Europeans on their collective rear ends by way of big, American brute force. And why not? Let the Euros tweak their tiny engines all day long, they'll never match the sheer power available through major displacement. At least, that's Cadillac's V philosophy.
