The command center has also one-upped the old 456M, featuring a revised instrument binnacle as well as steering wheel mounted ancillary controls. Upgraded luxury items include new dual-zone climate control and a top-tier Bose audio system. Overall the interior displays the highest quality leathers, complimented by aluminum trim. It can also be personalized with carbon fiber accents, or whatever the client prefers.

That brings us to the Carrozzeria Scaglietti program, a personalization service to assist in optimizing stock Ferraris to specific customer "taste, style and use," or so the company literature states, not to be confused with this 612 Scaglietti of the same name. Rather the 612 is an entirely unique car that comes direct Ferrari's own Scaglietti light-alloy technologies facility, with the revered Scaglietti name affixed.

The result is an absolutely beautiful piece of retrospective modernism, effectively mixing cues from the past, such as the scalloped sides and elegant C-pillars, with fresh themes as seen in the arcing lower line of the grille as it feeds into the complex headlight/fender treatment.
Some may criticize the 612 for paying too much homage to the dearly departing 456M when viewed from behind, but to me it's just about perfect - as was the 456 I might add. The new model's simplicity of form, uncluttered Enzo-esque tail lamp execution and subtle decklid spoiler, typify the Italian marque's most aspirational late '50s through early '70s era, while its aggressive quad tailpipes jutting from a menacingly black diffuser make a strong point about king of the road qualifications.
