Ford has expectedly upgraded the interior over the current generation Windstar with a sophisticated new design and improved build quality that reflects its new focus on improved perceived quality. The cabin offers unique features such as a classic round analog clock just above the attractive central stack, with a handy covered storage bin atop the dash itself. In the lower door panels cupholders join into map pockets, perfect companions for a long trip. Actually a total of nine cupholders can be found throughout the van. The new contemporary dash design and superb execution should appeal to European car fans.

The Freestar's clean, straightforward exterior styling should find support from those not looking to stand out in schoolhouse parking lot crowds. It's attractive but in an understated way, highlighted by a variation of Ford's new truck family grille design. Subtle lower body cladding wraps from front to back, especially apparent in two-tone trim, while a traditional two-box body configuration is applied above. Some will appreciate the new homogenous exterior design, but that said, those outside of the Ford customer base may not even notice it at all.
