During my test, at least, the HVAC system worked well and was easy to configure, but the dual temperature settings only go up or down in full degree settings, not half degrees like as in most automatic climate control systems.

A meaty leather-clad steering wheel feels substantial in the hands, plus audio and cruise controls attached to stubby pods are within easy reach at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions. Traditionrument cluster, that itself incorporates smallish white on black dials, effective nonetal Land Rover buttons surround the instheless.

I like the conventional hand parking brake, my wife doesn't, c'est la vie. Sport utilities of the Discovery's size don't usually incorporate a handbrake, this one designed primarily with off-roading in mind.

It attaches to the center console, extra large in size, with ample cupholders sticking out of the sides in a utilitarian manner. Saking of utilitarian, multicolored glyphs for hill decent control, hazard lights, and temperature settings are strewn across center stack,an odd but effective system. I can't say I liked the centrally mountedpower window switches, as they were reverse canted in an awkwardposition.

One more for the positive side, the dual sunroofs are fabulous, eachfeaturing twin side-by-side perforated nylon shades. I also love thecurved top windows that bend into the roof at back. It's a feature Ihope Land Rover continues on in subsequent models.
