While LS models obviously come equipped with more features, base ES Diamantes are hardly starkly finished. Automatic climate control, cruise control, trip computer, power glass sunroof, 8-way adjustable driver's seat, security system and a 6-speaker 140-watt AM/FM single CD audio system come standard.

The LS adds leather trim, a power driver's seat with dual position memory, a power passenger's seat, electro-luminescent gauges, luxurious redwood-style console accents and the previously mentioned upgraded 270-watt premium audio system with steering wheel-mounted controls.
While the LS gets luxury features such as chrome inserts on the body-color side moldings and door handles and V-spoke aluminum wheels, the VR-X is sport-oriented with a performance-tuned suspension, traction control and a low-restriction exhaust. (Photo: Mitsubishi) |
On the outside the LS gets front fog lamps, chrome inserts on the body-color side moldings and door handles, plus V-spoke aluminum wheels. Additionally, traction control, heated seats and heated sideview mirrors are available in an LS only Cold Zone package.
The Diamante VR-X is the sportiest of the trio, beginning with ES trim features and adding performance-tuned suspension tuning, standard traction control and a low-restriction exhaust to decrease back pressure and increase horsepower to 210.
