Mitsubishi offers the Lancer Ralliart in a 5-door wagon version too, dubbed the Sportback. While it gets the same power and suspension upgrades as the sedan only the 4-speed automatic transmission is offered, a fact that left the entire group of journalists who took part in June's press event scratching their heads.

Altogether the Lancer Ralliart sedan's smooth combination of balanced performance, upmarket features and racy styling makes it stand out in what has become a highly contested market segment. While respectable among the street crowd, it still has four door practicality and a trunk that fits a reasonable amount of gear. It's a great combination for the enthusiast who has to live in the real world.
