Like its predecessor, the 2004 Sienna will be available in a variety of trims levels including base CE FWD (front-wheel drive), LE FWD, XLE FWD, LE 4WD (four-wheel drive) and XLE 4WD - optional full-time four-wheel drive is new for 2004.

Standard features include power windows, power locks and hatch release with remote keyless entry, cruise control, illuminated entry, dual-zone climate control, 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/cassette sound system and more. A DVD entertainment system with wireless headphones is optional as is a navigation system, rear seat audio, 17-inch alloy wheels with run-flat tires, laser cruise control, woodgrain and leather steering wheel with audio controls, front and rear parking sonar, tri-zone air-conditioning, second and third row sunshades, and a JBL Synthesis AM/FM/cassette/6-CD changer with 10-speaker surround sound audio system.

Yokoya obviously experienced the need for more power too. The Sienna's new 3.3-L V6 improves on performance with 230-hp and 242 lb-ft of torque, up 20-hp and 24 lb-ft from its predecessor respectively, resulting in a best-in-class 8.4-second 0 to 60 mph (96.6 km/h) sprint. The aluminum block engine incorporates Toyota's VVT-i (Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence), helping boost its power while reducing emissions to Ultra Low Emission Vehicle, Tier 2 regulations. The outgoing model's 4-speed automatic transmission is replaced by a new 5-speed unit that sports a new gated shifter.
